My brother got a Model 3 two months ago.
Tesla says they delivered something like 90,000 of them in 2018, and as of Dec. 31 they had several thousand in inventory--so you can walk into a dealer and buy one today, if your state isn't so backwards that it prohibits Tesla from selling there.
I hope Rivian works out; they're going to be building those trucks in the old Mitsubishi factory in Normal.
