If it runs on electricity, shouldn't it be a search motor?

Engine and motor are synonymous, though we tend to use one to mean electrically powered, and the other to mean combustion powered. It would not be incorrect to say electric engine or gasoline motor.

I see Model 3's all over the place. Evidence of them existing.

My brother got a Model 3 two months ago.
Tesla says they delivered something like 90,000 of them in 2018, and as of Dec. 31 they had several thousand in inventory--so you can walk into a dealer and buy one today, if your state isn't so backwards that it prohibits Tesla from selling there.
I hope Rivian works out; they're going to be building those trucks in the old Mitsubishi factory in Normal.

Thanks! I feel exactly the same way!
It never made sense to me to say that I drive a motorized vehicle, that I registered at the Department of Motor Vehicles, that may even be called a "motorcycle" or "motorhome" or "motorboat", and then say that it doesn't have a motor, it's an engine.

On a tangent, I've read somewhere that turbochargers are a type of supercharger, but not all superchargers are turbochargers. Seems strange and confusing considering turbo is always referred to as exhaust-driven, and super is always referred to as crank-driven.
A quote from history of turbocharging and supercharging:
"It wasn’t until about 1912 that Dr. Alfred J. Büchi of
Switzerland developed the first exhaust-driven supercharger."

Yes, Belt or Shaft driven superchargers use some power from the engine, and are called Parasitic, while exhaust driven superchargers are driven by otherwise wasted exhaust gasses by passing them through a turbine, thus "turbo".
Direct driven superchargers produce a linear boost from idle, and turbochargers produce a geometrically increasing boost, little at low RPM, and very high boost in the upper RPM.
The optimum system is to feed the intake manifold from a supercharger until the pressure produced by the turbocharger exceeds that produced by the supercharger.
Some auto makers call this "Twin Charging".

Those are customer cars that Tesla failed to deliver before the end of the year. Musk has promised to compensate the buyers for the reduction in Federal Tax credit.
You can't walk into a Tesla dealership and drive away a car. All of their cars are made to order for a specific customer. What you can do is skip the 200K plus backorder and go to the front of the line. To skip the line you have to order a more expensive Model 3. A co-worker of mine did this last year and got his car in less than 2 weeks.
As to electric trucks: I would bet on the Workhorse W-15 being first to market. They are an established player in the EV step van market with hundreds of vehicles the road and a new order from UPS for 1000 more. Available as EV only or with a BMW range extender. Class 4 - 6 configurations. The W15 is the Class 4 van repackage into a truck layout.
