I never really understood why the garbage truck needs to pick up a can, go forward 3', pick up another, then go forward 3' and pick up another...

It's as if neighborhoods weren't built with trash pickup in mind. It should all be in 1 trash bin when they are that close together.

I forgot about the hydraulic pump and the noise it makes. I wonder how efficient it is? Probably need more like 200 kWh to complete a round of garbage pickup considering the pumps and such that have to run.
