Agreed. Built in nav solutions including CarPlay and Android Auto are not up to the same level as phone apps. I prefer to use Waze for most navigation since it contains useful information such as road hazards including police locations (yes, I consider patrol to be a highway safety hazard).

I just want the car to wirelessly connect calling functions and play whatever audio output my phone makes on the speakers.

Bluetooth is dirt cheap these days. We're talking a couple bucks.

I'm looking forward to freebeard finally getting his wheels.
