It's not actually impossible to run the A/C with 12-volt or 24-volt, there are even some aftermarket all-electric A/C kits originally meant for big rigs.
Decades ago the trade rags talked up these 48-V systems.
The advantage would be in current reduction,reducing wire size 4X,weight-savings,and they'd throw in multiplexing of signals off of a power bus,which I believe is done presently.
