The diesel market for passenger cars in Europe is crashing hard
The US has great gas and diesel prices but yesterday I looked up nationwide average prices on AAA and found diesel is $2.92/gal and unleaded is $2.27/gallon. I was looking at what the best MPG highway AWD you could buy and it was a BMW 328d Xdrive. But because of that diesel price premium, the simple Subaru Impreza is really better at a cost per mile calculation. The question for me would be is the $.65 difference the new norm, or is it the 28% price difference the new norm? Because when we get back to $5 gas, will diesel be $5.65 or $6.43?
