It does not matter where the pollution comes from, just how we can reduce it.
If oil can somehow contribute to a cleaner environment I'm all for it.
If your Leaf is a better EV because of oil in its transaxle that's great. As long as the changed oil does not get wasted, but in the grand scheme of things the 1.5 liter is a shade of the 7500 liter of gas and oils a comparable conventional car would use over the same distance.
As for tires, using oil as a source for carbon black is a matter of economics. What matters is that most of it won't be released into the atmosphere but end up in landfills or gets reused as a mix in with some kinds of tarmac and other uses, replacing other products that also release carbon when they wear.
Again, the amount of carbon released that way is a mere fraction of the fuel a gasser uses. Which also needs tires.
