I can’t disagree that I need to try and find a nice G3 Prius but I still haven’t found it yet
If you drive a lot, the Prius is a really nice vehicle. My mom drives ~25k miles/year has an '08 Prius. It has a TON of room and she's been getting mid-40s MPG without hypermiling, in winter driving and with new tires, both of which negatively affect FE.

My hypermiling only got 50 MPG in the same conditions, so for lots of driving without hypermiling the Prius is an excellent choice.

Only downside really to a Prius is if you don't drive much and thus don't see a lot of the fuel savings benefit.
