Not that much has changed, just fewer public executions now you really have to screw up to get shot in front of everyone. The are a regime change away from a massive purge.
My comment was in response to your comment about millions of people starving under Mao.

Millions starved in China from 1958-1962 after Mao's "Great Leap Forward".
Mao banned private ownership of farms and forced farmers onto planned communes. Food production plummeted, and people starved. That is no longer Chinese policy and private ownership of land and industry is allowed in present day China. That isn't praise, it is a basic fact.
