Not that much has changed, just fewer public executions now you really have to screw up to get shot in front of everyone. The are a regime change away from a massive purge.
My comment was in response to your comment about millions of people starving under Mao.

Millions starved in China from 1958-1962 after Mao's "Great Leap Forward".
Mao banned private ownership of farms and forced farmers onto planned communes. Food production plummeted, and people starved. That is no longer Chinese policy and private ownership of land and industry is allowed in present day China. That isn't praise, it is a basic fact.

That stinks.
All the more reason to switch to nuclear.
The nimbys didn't want nuclear after the 3 mile island non disaster so coal got built. Reap what you sow.

Hahaha, that's no link, that's the whole thread man. Nobody reads that end to end.

BS confirmed. Nobody on here calls the Chinese government wonderful.

Nor would anyone call Nazi Germany wonderful, obviously.
For that you need to visit the comments sections on Schmalschnurrbart.

The fairest thing to say about the Nazis are that they're losers. They did prevent the Bolsheviks from rolling all the way to the Atlantic.

A reactor like Chernobyl will never be built again.
It was a graphite modulated light water boiling reactor.
Every part of that reactor concept is wrong.
I think breader reactors cooled with liquid sodium that can't melt down should be used. Next best thing to that is gen3+.

I think we should listen to Taylor Wilson:
https://phys.org/news/2013-03-teen-c...r-reactor.html
Quote:
He has designed a small reactor capable of generating 50-100 megawatts of electricity, enough to power as many as 100,000 homes.

The reactor can be made assembly-line style and powered by molten radioactive material from nuclear weapons, Wilson said. The relatively small, modular reactor can be shipped sealed with enough fuel to last for 30 years.

"You can plop them down anywhere in the world and they work, buried under the ground for security reasons," he said, while detailing his design at TED.

"In the Cold War we built up this huge arsenal of nuclear weapons and we don't need them anymore," Wilson said. "It would be great if we could eat them up, and this reactor loves this stuff."

His reactors are designed to spin turbines using gas instead of steam, meaning they operate at temperatures lower than those of typical nuclear reactors and don't spew anything if there is a breach.

The fuel is in the form of molten salt, and the reactors don't need to be pressurized, according to the teenager.

"In the event of an accident, you can just drain the core into a tank under the reactor with neutron absorbers and the reaction stops," Wilson said.

"There is no inclination for the fission products to leave this reactor," he said. "In an accident, the reactor may be toast, which is sorry for the power company, but there is no problem."

Palo verde nuclear power station can use straight mixed oxide fuel or recycled fuel.
Take plutonium and blend it with depleted uranium to the tune of around 5% or less and you have nuclear power from an existing reactor.

Know your history.
The Bolsheviks had to fight off the Western forces who attempted to overrun them during the Russian Civil War right after the first World War. That did not go down well.

Yet they were happily going about themselves, starving some million Ukranians to death and such, but not bothering too much about eastern Europe until the Germans marched in. They suffered greatly and imperialized half of Europe after the war as a retribution.
They're not nice guys by any measure, but there's logic to their ways.

The Nazis - there's no excuse for the cruelty they caused, none at all.
They can't operate in the open. You cannot have a nazi press agency, at least not one presenting itself as such. Subtle hints are the furthest one can go. I'm not going to spell it out any further. Could be pure coincidence, of course.

Disclaimer: Red in my avatar does not stand for my political orientation just as Devil does not stand for my religious tendencies. It's just about a red car with a funny random state-issued license plate code.
