One big thing about getting a vehicle and CONVERTING it to electric is that it is WAY easier to license and insure.

My motorcycle cost $78 for the license, title, and registration for all eternity.
It is insured as the original 1981 Kawasaki cycle. $80 a year for insurance.
I spoke to a guy a while back who converted a crotch-rocket. He loves it but seems to regret the choice because of insurance cost.

Find out what it takes in your area to get a home built vehicle registered and legal to run on the road.

That last thing you want to do is put your money, blood, sweat, and tears into something you can't even drive on public roads.
