groar (sorry about the mis-spell, it was late at night), it definitely could have been from Mexico. Do you remember the license plate? Did it look like a USA plate or ?????
Last year I thought I spotted the new Saturn Astra going to LAX, but another saturnfan pointed out that the car was the *previous* gen Opel, sold as a Chevy in Mexico :
On the trunk, you can *barely* see the Chevy chevron in the center of an "Opel" circle.
