I've heard good things about
Spider-Man:_Into_the_Spider-Verse
But what has my attention right now is Blender 2.80. I can't think of a point upgrade that has changed a software package more since.... never. Blender used to be a 3D modeling and rendering program with an annotation tool called Greasepaint. Greasepaint has grown into a complete 2D animation tool that exists in the 3D space.
...and it has the shader tree workspace collapsed to a pane with 10 sliders
...and they've ditched right-click to select for left-click like the rest of the world
...and there's a new rendering engine EEVEE
...and there's a video editor so you can make whole movies
...and you can transfer Kinect rigging to Blender rigging and make avatars dance like a puppet
...and all the stuff like Cycles rendering and OpenVDB is still there, plus Filmic Blender is now standard!
If I can claw my way up the learning curve (it's steep and there's no top in sight) I might be able to produce CFD analysis of my belly tanker and motor home designs.
