Saw Captain Marvel, it was good, better than average Marvel, but not the best (that would be Captain America). The character was fine. I think they may have given her too much power, why Superman makes for silly movies (I realize that is not Marvel).

I tried to watch Thor last night, but it was unwatchable. I fell asleep.

It's hard to watch groundbreaking movies if you don't remember what the ground looked like before they were made. You have to be walked through it to understand.

The fortune cookie in the Slashdot footer today is '"Laugh while you can, monkey-boy." -- Dr. Emilio Lizardo'.

I finally watched "Captain Marvel." It was cool, but it would have been better if it was about a guy.
Maybe a fourteen year-old who turns into Captain Marvel.

I've heard good things about Spider-Man:_Into_the_Spider-Verse
But what has my attention right now is Blender 2.80. I can't think of a point upgrade that has changed a software package more since.... never. Blender used to be a 3D modeling and rendering program with an annotation tool called Greasepaint. Greasepaint has grown into a complete 2D animation tool that exists in the 3D space.
...and it has the shader tree workspace collapsed to a pane with 10 sliders
...and they've ditched right-click to select for left-click like the rest of the world
...and there's a new rendering engine EEVEE
...and there's a video editor so you can make whole movies
...and you can transfer Kinect rigging to Blender rigging and make avatars dance like a puppet
...and all the stuff like Cycles rendering and OpenVDB is still there, plus Filmic Blender is now standard!
If I can claw my way up the learning curve (it's steep and there's no top in sight) I might be able to produce CFD analysis of my belly tanker and motor home designs.

I liked "Into the Spider-Verse," but it took a while to become accustomed to the style. It seemed the framerate was too low.
I watched "Paddington 2" with a friend. She enjoyed it. I had a nice nap. This was the same friend that insists on telling me that "Ant Man and the Wasp" was boring, but she had a nice nap.
I liked Paddington, I just was not going to stay awake for it.

Enjoy the time it left... Before politically correctness creates a gay Superman or trans Shazan...
They already made pressure to a Dr Who became a woman.

What did you think of Blade Runner 2049, and the romance between the cyborg and the hologram? I watched it again last week (DVD from the city library) and it seemed tediously slow.
Alita: Battle Angel topped $400 million (twice) and it's on track for the sequel.

I haven't made it through Blade Runner 2049 yet. Started it like 3 times. Then again, the original is slow too.
Saw my favorite documentary over the weekend: The Dawn Wall. Tommy Caldwell is the embodiment of masculinity as far as I can tell.
