Leaf sales, if they did plummet 2 years ago, was more to do with the model being overdue for a major redesign, and known battery longevity problems, not to mention half the range.

Now that the Gen II is out, they still failed to beat the competition in any metric. They launched a 150 mile range vehicle when the Bolt and Tesla were already doing 250, with much faster acceleration, and they still don't have active thermal management.

I don't get the impression Nissan wants to sell EVs, or anyone but Tesla for that matter.
