As I said, all girls of reproductive age should get an IUD for free. It should be an opt-out sort of thing.
That way, reproducing becomes a conscious choice by removing the IUD.
I could see the Catholic church being opposed to state sponsored birth control, but there's plenty of stuff the government does that is against religion. For instance, our country has sexist and racist laws regarding employment whereby employers must consider race and sex when making hiring decisions rather than just select the candidates they want. That's against my religion to freely associate, do business with, and employ whomever I want.
