I saw a commercial where you can donate money to remove plastic from the ocean. Immediately I wondered what charity I could donate to that would slap those who are throwing the plastic into the ocean in the face. More satisfying and more effective.

Anyhow, I'm half kidding. But seriously, who thinks that the solution to a sewage leak in their home is to get more buckets to collect the spillover? It amazes me that many people see the symptoms of a problem and mistake it for the problem itself.

I might be willing to spend money to take plastic out of the ocean when we've stopped putting it there in there in the first place... and that's way down on my list of things to spend money on considering people still starve to death, lack clean water, and die of relatively minor things like malaria.
