This has worked for my on most of my cars, but not my 4.0 Jeep or 2.4 Celica. I even ran wires direct to the battery. Either the battery sags too much during cranking, or the car grounds the radio while cranking. On the Jeep, the car grounds the radio...

I'll eventually get around to investigating further, but the mod is still useful on the Jeep as normally the radio turns off at the first position from on. The ignition switch is arranged as ACC-LOCK-OFF-ON-START So at least I can EOC and bump start now.
