All that said above, do you think it would be possible to yank the front axle out (4WD rig) and replace it with the prius drivetrain? I have no idea how big the prius motor is, but the front axle on this old Ford is HUGE and hanging way out in space, there's a solid 6" air gap between it and the motor.
