Just when I left selling auto parts, my company started selling these black-coated rotors. Obviously, the black (I can’t remember what the coating actually was) would wear off under the pads, and I remember thinking, “What’s the point?”
But I’ve never lived in the snow belt, so I don’t know how aggressively the salt attacks other parts of a rotor.
I’ll probably have to learn, I’ve dragged my feet long enough on moving to NY state that I’ll find myself on a short learning curve.
