Because of my own skills in redneck engineering... I credit some of my fuel economy, actually my most impressive gains, to these striations I created on the front bumper while wet sanding the headlights. My tests show me that these vertical striations create friction differentials to help direct the airflow around the front wheels, thus improving my fuel economy:

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color.
