Every tree that burns, which could live to 100 years, 1000 years or 3000 years, immediately loses almost all its carbon storage. Four consecutive yearly U.S. total forest fire burns beginning in 1980, were 5+ million, just under 5 million, 2+million, & 1+ million, acres.
The last four years' U.S. total forest fire burns beginning in 2015, were 10+ million, 5+ million, 10 million & just under 9 million, acres.
