Scientific Predictions

oilpan4 brought this one up,and I've kept a third eye open as I've read through the climate materials I've crossed paths with:
*Rossby waves were postulated in the 1940s.It took 50-years to verify their existence.
*1956,Radio Astonomers report perhaps 600-degree heat on Venus.No one believes it until the USSR's Venera space-probe reaches Venus in 1977.
*1965,Hubert Lamb,climatologist,UK, proposes notion of a Medeival Warm Period,which will be debunked in 2003, by Michael Mann.
*In 1975,Wallace Broecker predicted global warming which was verified by direct measurement.
*In 1975,Carl Sagan posits that,Venus,likely to be the product of a runaway greenhouse effect,later verified by USSR and American space-probes.
* 1986,MIT's Mark Crane,predicts,for the first time,an El Nino event,with a computer model.
*June,23,1988,James E. Hansen,predicts that 1988 will set an all-time heat record,verified in November of that year.
*Interior,continental,high elevation,sensitivity to early global warming,more so than at the polar regions, was predicted by Guy Calendar in 1959,and found to be correct in 1991.
*in February 1992,Albert Gore,Jr. predicted that the 1990s, would replace the 1980s as the warmest on record,which turned out to be an observed fact.
*In 1997,Lonnie Thompson,predicted that,he'd find exactly an opposite climate anomaly in the Sajama Glacier,Bolivia,glacial-stage ice,as found in any extant ice cores.The ice would be clear,free of dust,proving a wet climate during its glacial stage.Proven by 1998,after lab analysis.
*Lonnie Thompson predicted that the snows of Kilimanjaro,Africa would be no older than about 11,000-years.Lab testing pegged the snow at 11,700-years age.
*February,2001,Lonnie Thompson tells,snows of Kilimanjaro,likely to disappear by 2021.(we can watch for this)
