Take the cost to put just 1kg on space.
Take to convertion efficience of IR laser to electricity, and als the loss from atmosphere.

No way, this idea would be thousand times more expensive than solar panels on surface.

Edited: Take also the fuel rockets needs to put a single solar cell on space. A rocket uses many tons of fuel to put small objects on space. This is, in relation, more energy than the cells of thousand solar panels on space would be able to generate in their lifespan.
