I’d say the women need be worth it. Many today, aren’t. Fat, tattooed and wastrel describe it pretty well. But those under my implied protection don’t get a vote on my actions.

The OPs problem was that husband, brother or father wasn’t available to have their jaw cracked on behalf of their females. Thus, the business manager shouldn’t have had any toleration for rudeness that could turn to something else.
