I must have missed the anti-government conspiracy talk in this thread.

Seems a fairly balanced amount of people that think bunker oil should not be burned in ships, to those like me that question if it should or not, to those that think it's perfectly fine.

My own anecdotal experience is that I don't know of anyone that has ever succumbed to bunker fuel pollution inhalation. People I know die of cancer and heart disease mostly late in life, because humans aren't made to live longer.

I'm willing to go with most any government regulation so long as sufficient effort has been invested to estimate the cost of implementing such regulation, and the expected benefit, and that the benefit outweighs the cost.
