That's a lie and easy to debunk.
If they had accounted for urban heat island effect then why does the new data set drop hundreds of temperature stations and only using 114 that are located in remote areas?
Oh a large portion of the sea temperature data like what was used in the "oceans and cryosphere report" has been thrown out too. Or retracted in nature which seems to be worse.
