I say that most people think they are smarter than average, which is statistically impossible, and someone commented the opposite way, maybe the most are smarter than average, but [people of that team you dislike] bring down the average.

My other favorite quote is "Standardized tests merely measure your ability to take standardized tests."

I was 92nd percentile on the SAT, 99th on the ASVAB, and something like 80th on the GRE. That doesn't sound very good, but the average GRE score of students accepted into the grad school where I applied is around 40th percentile.
