But when you're running out of first gear your body knows it's time for the left foot to stab. The wide brake pedal isn't so wide that your left foot can hit it accidentally, but it's wide enough that it's easy to hit with the left. And when your left foot knows it's time to hit a pedal, it's doing it. Any course corrections required are so minor that your foot can handle them on its own without any conscious thought or effort on your part.
