Honestly, I love it here.

It's 78 degrees with low humidity through most of summer. I leave my windows open 6-7 months out of the year.

I have acres of sugar maples (make my own syrup now), room for chickens, my pristine drinking water comes from a well in front of my house. I pay only for internet, mortgage, and electricity - and have plans to get rid of that last one soon.

During the warm months, everything is an entirely different level of green than I ever saw in Florida. You can practically just throw vegetable seeds on the ground, and the friendly climate takes care of the rest.

Burlington has 40,000 people and it feels too busy to me. And, even there, there are few strip malls, chains or box stores. Food sold in restaurants and markets is mostly locally sourced. People care where things come from and how they're made.

The state is 110% behind "green" initiatives, both in the way of financial incentives and a regulatory environment that's friendly to them.

Most of my neighbors drive compact cars, hybrids and EVs, by preference.

Sure, it's cold 5 months of the year, but in my opinion the weather isn't bad starting late January through late March, when the sun comes out and the days start getting noticeably longer. The hardest months for me tend to be late October through early January, when it's cloudy and rainy, and often not all that cold.
