GMC CANYON DURAMAX DIESEL!

Hi team,

I just picked up a new 2020 GMC Canyon with the 2.8L duramax diesel.

Its a crew cab 4x4 Denali & i traded my 18 f150 with the 2.7l ecoboost for it.

Long story short i was very disappointed with the fuel economy ofvthe 2.7L ecoboost.

I have several trailers & tow something maybe 20 to 30% of the time, however my max towing is under 5k#, so the F150 was bigger than i needed.

I liked the truck & never had a single problem, not 1. But the lil 2.7L gasser got 9mpg towing my 20ft aluminium fishing boat (just under 4k#) & she pulled a whopping 5mpg towing the pontoon.

Not good. & considering i pull the boat about an hour each way to my fishing hole, & i go a couple of times each week & it adds up quick.

So ive been on the fence for about 6 months & actively looking for 3 when in walks a pandemic that all but ends new car sales.

I smell an opportunity......i had negotiated & put a deposit down on my truck but i backed out thinking there will be more incentives.

Boom, i ended up saving an additional $4500 off the price & i got a 8 yr 165k mile bumper to bumper warranty.

Now i need to break in the engine and get to making good mileage.

Down side is diesel is about $1 per gallon more expensive than gas, but if i can pull high 20s or low 30s with a 4x4 truck its easily worth it.

Anyhow- thats me. I look forward to learning from you guys!
