I saw a wreck on the I5 Oregon/Washington bridge yesterday. No idea how people are managing to collide when there's hardly any traffic to maneuver around. Worst place to wreck too. I'm always extra cautious when crossing since there's no shoulder, so you need to be aware of escape routes if any exist. I swerved around a crate in the road there once, and I only knew I could do that because I knew in advance there was nobody next to me.
I've often thought the 10% worst drivers just shouldn't be allowed to drive. Eliminate those drivers, and you'll probably eliminate 80% of the non-impaired accidents (Pareto principle).
