It's the city dwellers that notice the improvements in visibility. I notice no such differences since Oregon doesn't suffer visual impairments due to pollution. The main thing that limits visibility besides fog and rain would be dust from dry summer days.

I have to say, this is the only time I've not dreaded PDX traffic. Normally anxiety builds, and upon arriving at my destination I need a good 40min of quietness to recover from my frustration of having spent the last 90 minutes in a car traveling slower than had I been on a bicycle.
