All right. Here is the cheapest house in New Mexico:
Two bedrooms, one bath, 892 square feet, for $8,100. May need paint:

Check out the bonus room!

Where is this metal sheeting?

Maybe it needs a little work.

This is not much storage!

Where is Tucumcari?

The eastern side of New Mexico. You know, near Texas. I am going to argue this is a poor investment for a guy in the state to the west.

It is small! How much could it cost to fix up?!

Two bedrooms, two baths, 1,150 square feet for $14,900. Needs to be mopped-twice
This is the front of the house?

This was carpet?

Why are there holes in the wall?!

Someone ripped out the toilet?!

Why does the same room have two types of tile? Are those linoleum tiles?

It is a bit closer!

Hey! This one is in Portales! My MUMU program is in Portals! I kind of want to visit Doorways!

Doorways is 20 miles from Texas!

Two bedrooms, one bath, 948 square feet for $18,808. Nicer than Afghanistan!
I would buy this immediately if it were in Show Low!

I am not showing more pictures. It is small and dirty, but only one room shows damage.

How much is the realtor bribe on $18,808?

5% is $940.40!

Two bedrooms, 1 bath, 1,485 square feet for $29,900. Needs roof repair.
It is cute and surprisingly big!

Holy mother of Mazda!

Every room is like that!

It looks like it has 6' ceilings and then, you know, the roof fell down a little.

Two bedrooms, one bath, 670 square feet on 2.75 acres for $33,000
I would also buy this one right away if it were in Show Low. It is almost 30% bigger than the blue house with bars on some windows, but the property is huge!

Honestly, it just needs paint and some minor repairs--as far as I can tell.

Three bedrooms, 2+ bathrooms, 1,469 square feet, lender-owned, as-is for $33,316
Aren't all houses sold as-is?
This house is nicer than Mom's!

Well, that put us way past Oil Pan's range. What about Arizona? The cost of living is higher, but there are way more people!

About the fourteenth valid listing is in Show Low, eight or nine miles from Mom's house. 576 square feet on 1.06 acres, but there is just a satellite picture of the area. Looking at Google Maps there is some building there, but there is a much larger building on the property, with a pickup parked in front of it. If the pickup is 17' long, the house would be around 576 square feet, and Google tagged a shed.

It was supposed to be sold at a foreclosure auction last September.

Zillow does not give the lot size. I got that from RedFin, but it doesn't have any other information.

Hey, Graham Stephan and Kevin always tell people to become realtors. RedFin doesn't cover Show Low because they don't have any agents.

I wonder if that is an opening.

"I am RedFin's most experienced realtor in Show Low!"
"How many houses have you sold?"
"Sold?! I haven't even shown any houses! Wait! Come back!"

I could not find any information on that from other sites.

All of them said that it was off of the market. They got it out of foreclosure?

Ninety miles away on the other side of a big canyon for $27,112.

$42,054 in the same town.

$47,600 in Kingman

$49,900 888 square feet in Ajo; looks great!
$54,839 in Ajo. No pictures.

$51,482 in Tacna.

13% less than that house that I found on Craigslist and a little closer, but half the size! 1,008 square feet for $56,644

$37,500 in Benson. I think that it is cute, but many of the pictures are dark! Over four hours south.

$54,776 in Casa Grande.
$32,487 in Casa Grande

Three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,418-square-foot fixer-upper in Bisbee--50 minutes south of Benson!

So, no houses currently in or close to Show Low, but if I want to be a slumlord, how about a mobile home? Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and 740 square feet for $49,500. Honestly, it is clean, and in good shape, but sixty years old!

Zillow says that with $9,900 down and a 30-year mortgage at 4.126% it would cost $192 a month. Property tax and home insurance would be $50. Property taxes are $254 for the year ($21.17 monthly).

That totals $263.17 a month.

This is the cheapest home that I remember finding for rent in Show Low. 907 square feet for $732.

Would $600 be fair for the mobile home? So, $336.83 a month to cover my electrotherapy bill?
