I previously had the Rostra unit working before my engine swap. The new transmission has a different type of speed signal (much higher frequency) which I believe is out of range of the Rostra unit, so it's connected downstream of the converter.
The converter's signal seems to work fine for the cluster and ABS, but I think it's what's not working with the Rostra unit. Rostra sells a separate VSS converter I might buy, but it seems silly to have two different converters if I could avoid it.
