The NRA sticker is like being a skunk wearing it's colors, or a coral snake doing the same, i.e. don't tread on me and all that. I'm not a member, so it would be like being a Scarlet King snake for me.

I agree with RH77 on the washer fluid (never done it deliberately). Unless it's raining, it can be *obvious* when it is being used to get someone to back off.

Ha ha, it's still a skunk metaphor, because your car is "spraying".

The "research vehicle" is probably the best. It's non-confrontational and implies you and your car are "working" at the moment, which might make your speed more legitimate in the eyes of the tailgater.
