I spent countless hours over several days trying to fish a cat6 cable through 2 studs in an exterior wall. It's embarrassing how difficult I made a task that should have been straightforward, and because of the assumed ease of the task, I couldn't let it go. I kept trying "1 more thing"... eventually breaking 2 of my fiberglass fish rods.

I finally got it last night by taping a hard drive magnet to a string and inserting that into the top hole, then pushing a fiberglass rod with hard drive magnet guided by an inspection camera from the bottom.

No idea what the point of that story was except to vent, and perhaps to point out that sometimes things aren't worth the effort, but sometimes they are. Knowing when to give up and when to persevere is the tricky part.
