We hauled some scrap metal to the local recyclers over the weekend (see pics attached). Most of the stuff was various junk that was on our property when we bought it, but some of it was leftovers from various car experiments I've done over the last 5 years or so.

This was the first time I've been able to weigh the car with a trailer and load.
We were at 12880 lbs. when we weighed in, and 8040 lbs. when we weighed out.

The whole family went along (approx. 600 lbs. of people), and there was a tank that they wouldn't accept because it still had the valve in it, and made us take it with us when we left (approx. 100 lbs.?). The car was supposed to weigh 4500 lbs. from factory, but I don't know exactly how much it weighs now--some of the things I've done to it would make it heavier, and some would make it lighter. I'd guess that it's slightly heavier than stock now.

Judging by how it felt while driving, I think that some of the loads of manure that I've hauled for our garden in the past were heavier than this load of scrap.

Still...it's pretty cool to have a vehicle that can both handle 13,000 lbs. gross and get 50 MPG under the right conditions while empty.
