As you are probably aware, SA talks about outdoor people. There's some truth to that; but pitching a tent in a city is barely "outdoors". Sleeping bag in an alcove is drug addiction. The question is, how free should people be? Free enough to die by mental health problems or addiction? Poor planning is applicable here too.

If I were homeless (I lived in my Subaru Legacy for 2 years), I'd be the envy of the outdoor crowd because that's what optimism brings. Not everyone has that optimism though, and the question is what to do about that?
