You're going to need to explain the holes because I'm not seeing them.

Should our level of outrage and quantity of resources devoted to a problem be in proportion to the size of the problem, or is there some other arbitrary metric we should use; like I just feel bad, or the media is telling me I should care more and I'm a horrible person if I don't?

Continuous improvement is a process, not a burn it all down angry mob. It's likewise myopic to observe that police shoot and kill people and conclude the problem is the gun.

If we had unarmed police, people would never call them. They'd put the coroner on speed dial.
