I won't reply to some of these comments because the OP is a moderator. What was that BS about internet censorship and righties, again?

I just checked. The OP is me.

Internet censorship?

The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. John Gilmore (born 1955) is an American computer science innovator, Libertarian , Internet activist, and one of the founders of Electronic Frontier Foundation .
I met John Gilmore. He attended the Oregon Country Fair for a few years around the turn of the century.

Police kill less than 1,000 people per year in the US. The number of people killed by falls is 37,000.

Since the majority of people that die in falls are male, and considering the problem is 37x that of police shootings, we should form an angry mob to demand that heights be less sexist. Instead of focusing on the behavior that put these people in precarious situations, lets burn down the institutions of height, and their supporting structures.

I will not rest until heights are eliminated, and the people that die in falls instead die of other causes; preferably less sexist ones.
Why would police need better training and vetting when, according to the jokey argument with holes in it, there's no problem with police?

You're going to need to explain the holes because I'm not seeing them.

Should our level of outrage and quantity of resources devoted to a problem be in proportion to the size of the problem, or is there some other arbitrary metric we should use; like I just feel bad, or the media is telling me I should care more and I'm a horrible person if I don't?

Continuous improvement is a process, not a burn it all down angry mob. It's likewise myopic to observe that police shoot and kill people and conclude the problem is the gun.

If we had unarmed police, people would never call them. They'd put the coroner on speed dial.

This guy with the initials A. J. is on somebodie's Episode #1555.

His opening statement is that coal is clean* if it comes from 'one place'...
Quote:
25:45 they had old-fashioned coal plants china
25:47 doesn't have one scrubber or filter on
25:49 their coal power plants
25:51 and china doesn't have clean burning
25:52 coal there's one place in the united
25:54 states that has major deposits of coal
25:56 that is such pure carbon you don't even
25:58 need scrubbers
This is an example of a persistent moderator and instant fact-checking that we missed in the [political] debates.

People aren't killed by falls, people die from falls.

I dunno, but I'm getting my pitchfork and mask ready just in case it's more than zero.

+1

Derek Chauvin didn't use a gun. The problem is about training and focus, not about the tools available. Two of the cops with Chauvin were in their fist week as Minneapolis cops and Chauvin was training them- he was a bad cop no matter what he was carrying, and he was training the rookies to be bad cops too.
