It's been awhile since I messed with the civic. Just renewed the registration on it (only $23!) and made me think of this thread. I tried cutting a slot in the bolt head with a dremel and using a screwdriver bit in a ratchet. That didn't work.

I also joined the first gen civic group on facebook and asked if anyone had a timing cover for it. No replies.

Then I was sitting there just looking at the car and realized I have to remove the head anyway to try and free the engine. So the new plan is I am just going to cut the timing belt and remove the head. Then I can try and get the bolt out on the bench with better access to it. What I am hoping for is that I drill the bolt head off, remove the cover, then remove the shank of the bolt.

I have a few other things to catch up on before I can get the garage cleaned up enough that I can comfortably work in there. So no real progress for now and probably not for a few more months.
