Yes I would say it's similar. There are three drive modes S, D and ECON. With activated cruise control and ECON mode on, it's accelerating a bit more smooth, but on the other hand it's still too hard for hypermiling purposes.
When there is an incline, it kind of floors the gas pedal, while I would only press the pedal as soft as possible.
