Even though last time I said my RPMs with cruise control are a bit higher, I wasn't able to recreate the effect on my last drive. Looks like they are pretty much identical, at least between 100 and 120 KPH.

With activated cruise control

On cars with multiple drive modes (sport/eco/standard) this can affect how the cruise control adjusts throttle... In sport mode, cruise control can be quite strong.

That's my experience with VAG cars anyway (volkswagen automobile group, VWs Audis Seats Skodas..)

I wonder if your car is similar?

Yes I would say it's similar. There are three drive modes S, D and ECON. With activated cruise control and ECON mode on, it's accelerating a bit more smooth, but on the other hand it's still too hard for hypermiling purposes.
When there is an incline, it kind of floors the gas pedal, while I would only press the pedal as soft as possible.
