Fast warm up ideas: diesel fired air heater.

I got one of these.


It's a "5kw diesel air heater" they come in one's that look like this up to 8kw. Normally I say bigger is better but I went with the 5kw one because it can put out as little as 2kw of heat.
Looking at the 8kw heater I think you could only turn the heat down as low as 4kw. I just don't think I need to burn a tank of diesel at 13,000btu per hour. I would rather have more run time on a tank then heat output.

I'm thinking set it on top of the car, rolling down a window and running the heat in with a clothes dryer duct and that will melt all the ice off my leaf.
