Mom's friend is back in the hospital
It snowed Monday and Tuesday last week and didn't melt until Thursday, so I bought a double loft bed on Monday. I only had about two hours to work on it each day. I converted it to a single XL and kept adding bracing because it flexed too much when I tried to climb up and wasn't stable under my weight. Unfortunately, I didn't finish until Monday. I keep planning on going out and working on the ramp, but stuff always comes up.
On Tuesday my brother was supposed to have occupational therapy, whatever that is, and I needed to stick around for technical support. The therapist rescheduled, but I kept needing to take care of things before my 2:30 client, with three more that evening.
He had speech therapy on Wednesday and I should have had time before my 4:15 client, but while the friend had been ambulatory, she was doing worse and worse, and Mom called every thrift store every morning looking for a wheelchair. The only one that I found in-town was Harbor Freight. There wasn't a specific coupon, but $125 - 20% = $100. I didn't have time before my appointment, so I went immediately afterward, and then Mom had me deliver it. I don't know why I didn't think of driving separately. My brother and I sat in the car while Mom dropped off food, tried to convince her to try out the wheelchair, and helped with other stuff.
This morning the son called Mom saying that she was talking incoherently and he needed to go to work, he had already missed a lot lately [helping his mom]. Mom called the paramedics and they took her to the hospital.
Once again I am going to wait to see what happens before working on the ramp.
