M$ have trouble killing the older versions; Windows 7, Internet Explorer, etc.
Mosaic/Netscape throwing their IP into the public domain was one of the greatest stories of early Internet.

I kept trying to replace Mom's window trim, but other projects kept coming up, like the crazy lady who refused to follow her doctor's recommendations obsessing over having a ramp. I would have worked on that, but the first crazy lady obsessed over removing a stump that wasn't in the way. I would have finished that, but that same crazy lady obsessed over getting new window trim. I didn't get very far when my dear brother obsessed over finding the tennis ball that was supposed to be hanging in the garage, even though nobody has been able to park in there for 6-12 months.
My brother found the ball shortly before I cleared enough room to park a car. It was difficult to stop that project and get back to the window trim so that I can eventually remove the stump and build the ramp.
Then I reinstall the new heater core and dash--again?

From what I understand, you don't really remove a stump unless you remove all of it. If you merely remove the superficial portion you are a scammer and a fraud.
However, this is a bit of an air dam versus belly pan scenario. Do I want to put in far more time and effort for a statistically-questionable result?
My other concern is: How much of a hole would the full removal leave and how much time and effort would it take to fill this void? I don't know that I needed to fill in anything, but I would rather leave it slightly high than noticeably low. Perkins Cinders sells quarry run, just plain unsifted Arizonan regolith with twigs and stuff mixed in, $7 per ton.
One ton, eh? Can you just fill a bag for me?
I called back, asked if I could just shovel a bag, and the lady said they would bring it to me.
The very last thing she said was "$35 minimum."
So, I could get 10 pounds or 10,000 for the same price? Brilliant!
Home Depot sells a cubic foot of steer manure for $1.58. Is it the best option for filling a hole? I don't know, but where would you recommend that I steal dirt?
Arizona dirt is so hard that I would happily pay $1.58 instead of shoveling unnecessarily.
The next issue is that there was a layer of cinders under the gravel and then the dirt. Maybe "Unprofessional" would be the wrong term since I am doing this for free, but that did not seem right to me, so as I documented here, I made a two-layer soil sifter, which didn't work, so I just shoveled everything back, justifying that eventually the dirt would settle.
The thing is, I finally finished the sad sorry soil sifter and had my brother and all of my tools in the car when Mom said that it wasn't a good time for the friend, so I painted the trim that I cut for her window. I pre-drilled it and hung it from fishing line. I theorize that by priming and painting before I install it the back is less likely to develop dry rot. I then started looking into other projects and once it was dark the friend called. I said that I couldn't do much in the dark and the friend said that she needed someone to let out her dogs.
I really feel that if you cannot let out your dogs you need to have professional help, but I let out her dogs, attempted to sift her rocks and dirt, filled in the hole, and let the dogs back in, while my brother filled a big bag with the rest of the pieces of wood.
The friend also gave Mom cash, which helps cover my expenses so far. Curiously, it was the exact amount that I left on my credit card, so it will be nice to pay off the rest.

Our local analog to Perkins Cinders is Lane Forest Products. They sell bark mulch, sand and gravel BYOB (bring your own bucket) for $2-3/five gallons. I usually get 2 or 3 buckets at a time.
I used to wash and sort gravel but now I just buy more, and dump clean fill where the neighbors want some.

Mom's friend is back in the hospital
It snowed Monday and Tuesday last week and didn't melt until Thursday, so I bought a double loft bed on Monday. I only had about two hours to work on it each day. I converted it to a single XL and kept adding bracing because it flexed too much when I tried to climb up and wasn't stable under my weight. Unfortunately, I didn't finish until Monday. I keep planning on going out and working on the ramp, but stuff always comes up.
On Tuesday my brother was supposed to have occupational therapy, whatever that is, and I needed to stick around for technical support. The therapist rescheduled, but I kept needing to take care of things before my 2:30 client, with three more that evening.
He had speech therapy on Wednesday and I should have had time before my 4:15 client, but while the friend had been ambulatory, she was doing worse and worse, and Mom called every thrift store every morning looking for a wheelchair. The only one that I found in-town was Harbor Freight. There wasn't a specific coupon, but $125 - 20% = $100. I didn't have time before my appointment, so I went immediately afterward, and then Mom had me deliver it. I don't know why I didn't think of driving separately. My brother and I sat in the car while Mom dropped off food, tried to convince her to try out the wheelchair, and helped with other stuff.
This morning the son called Mom saying that she was talking incoherently and he needed to go to work, he had already missed a lot lately [helping his mom]. Mom called the paramedics and they took her to the hospital.
Once again I am going to wait to see what happens before working on the ramp.

I confiscated the lumber!
I could have rented a Home Depot flatbed for $20, but I felt that it made more sense to rent another van, pay for mileage, and get the wood out of the rain sooner. The son was there, so I had Mom let him know what I was doing. He came out for a minute and said that his mom would come home today or tomorrow, the doctor said she had 6 - 12 months to live, and they were trying to get hospice care.
We are supposed to get 3-4" of snow on Monday.
Oh great. When she comes home I will need to help her get in the house and up the stairs.
How well do wheelchairs work on gravel... and stairs?
It is only supposed to reach 44° on Tuesday. If I cannot return Tuesday morning, since I have four clients in the afternoon and evening, I will rent a truck and bring back the materials on Wednesday.
I think that I will build a rig on Monday so I can cut dozens of 2x6es 36" long easily and correctly. I should also build rigs for a couple of other common sizes.
I should build rigs for Mom's window trim!
I just need to see if the friendly neighborhood lumbermill can get me wood the right size. I don't want to plane more 2x6es down to actual 1x4s!
So, this Lenovo stopped adjusting brightness already. The other one took 2 years!
What is weird is that it shows the screen adjustment, it just doesn't adjust the screen!

I've been watching videos on the Raspberry Pi 400 and Raspberry Pi cameras. The all-in-one is $100 and camera range from $5 to $50 dollars.
I might get one of these instead of another 2nd hand iMac. It has GPIO ports to control stepper motors and other hacker stuffs.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
