I don't expect to see Oregon end DEQ inspections any time soon. For one thing they DEQ fees raise $14 million a year. I also don't expect to see significant numbers of EVs for a decade or more. I'll take a guess and say 2035.

If we expand OReGO as planned DEQ will get even easier. All you need to do is go online, click test, pay the fee, and you are done. No need to visit a DEQ station. That is how I did my latest inspection.


DEQ estimated that vehicle emissions will increase by 20% if they stop vehicle inspections and people stop fixing their cars.
