They...made mistakes...with the civic for that generation (and the next). They supposedly made a hatchback at some point, but I don't think I've ever seen one. The young ricer-minded guys don't have much interest in an over-weight, under-powered sedan. The next gen (8th?) was butt ugly to boot.

The previous gen was a bit on the heavy side, compared to the one before, but at least it looked decent and came in a hatchback. Around here, these previous gen ones tend to sell better and for more than the gen in question.

And that's the extent of my view on that...

If you do buy it to part it out, there are a couple of items I'd be interested in...but you're not going to make any money off of it through me alone.
