My dog absolutely loves the berries from a bush outside.
I knew that dogs will sometimes eat grass for digestion.
It's like natures' wisdom.
BUT THEN just being curious, I looked up the berries.
They are toxic to dogs !
So here I was thinking that my dog knew best, and animals have this sixth sense or something, and I was totally wrong !
If i had not stopped her, she would have killed herself !
It's like overeating. I found out that dogs will eat themselves to death if there is enough food around.
My dog got into the bag of food while i was away, and bloated up.
Lucky for me, i csme home in time to take it from her.
So whst am I saying ? Well, dogs aren't the brightest animaks apparently, so when in doubt, better to not let them eat something you think may be bad for them.
Off on a tangent here : a friend of mine is a vet tech and they had to pull a foreign object from a dogs' intestine that was blocking it.
It turned out the blockage was a pair of panties.
The panties were not the wifes'.
Busted !
